Sarangi maestro Ustad Sabri Khan passed away
Padma Bhushan award winner Ustad Sabri Khan passed away on December 1 following a brief illness. The sarangimaestro was 88.
The tragic news came after Khan was hospitalised after he was admitted because he had troubled breathing. It has been reported that he will be buried on December 3.
Ustad Sabri Khan was an eminent Sarangi player, who popularised the instrument across the globe. He carved a niche for himself in the field of Indian classical music and was honoured with several awards, including Padma Shri (1992) and Padma Bhushan (2006). Read More
