IBPS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2015

IBPS ELIGIBILITY

IBPS has a mandate from multiple Indian Public Sector Banks to conduct the eligibility exam for selection to these banks. The computer-based exam is termed as the Common Written Examination and is held across multiple Indian cities multiple times a year to select candidates for Clerical, Probationary Officer (PO), Specialist Officer (SO), and Management Trainee (MT) roles.

IBPS Eligibility – Criteria for determining eligibility

The various factors that determine if you are eligible for appearing for the IBPS examination are :-

AGE LIMIT

FOR IBPS RRB CWE

  • Officer Scale I – Below 40 years
  • Officer Scale II – Above 21 years and below 32 years
  • Officer Scale III – Above 18 years and below 28 years
  • Office Assistant – Above 18 years and below 28 years

FOR IBPS PO

Above 20 years and below 30 years

FOR IBPS CLERK

Above 20 years and below 28 years

FOR IBPS SO

Above 20 years and below 30 years

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

FOR IBPS PO

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

FOR IBPS CLERK

  • A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
  • Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/ UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) whose vacancies a candidate wishes to apply for is preferable. (Some questions may be put at the time of interview to ascertain the candidate’s familiarity with the Official Language of the State/UT).

FOR IBPS SO

  • IT Officer – 4 year engineering degree in UG or PG in IT/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Electronics/ ECE/ E & I/ E & T OR any degree with DOEACC level B certificate.
  • Agriculture Field Officer – 4 year degree in Agriculture or subjects related to Agricultural Science.
  • HR/ Personnel Officer – Any UG or PG degree or diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations/ HRD/ Social Work/ Labour Law.
  • Marketing Officer – Any degree and 2 year MBA (marketing)/ PGDBA/ PGDBM with marketing specialization.
  • Law Officer – Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as advocate in Bar Council.

    FOR IBPS RRB

  • Office Assistant (multipurpose) – Degree in any discipline from a  recognized university or its equivalent, proficiency in local language, no experience required.
  • Officer Scale I – Degree in any discipline from a  recognized university or its equivalent, proficiency in local language, no experience required.
  • Officer Scale II ( GENERAL BANKING OFFICER) –   Degree in any discipline from a  recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% in aggregate with two years experience as an officer in a bank or a financial institution.
  • Officer Scale II- (SPECIALIST OFFICERS)

(a) Chartered Accountant – Certified Associateship from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with one year experience.

(b) Marketing Officer – PG degree in marketing from a recognized university with one year experience.

(c) Agricultural Officer – Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy Science/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture or allied specializations or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and minimum one year experience.

  • Officer Scale III –   Degree in any discipline from a  recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% in aggregate, minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a bank or financial institution, proficiency in the official language of the state/UT in which RRB is located and must have passed local language as one of the subjects at matriculation/ 10th class level.

NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP

A candidate must be one of the following :-

  • Citizen of Indian
  • Citizen of Nepal
  • Citizen of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee
  • Migrated People from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
